Privacy

The short version

Most of the tools run in your browser, and the files you open with them never reach us. The tools that need a GPU or a bigger computer send your file to a server for that one run and get the result back; for free runs we keep nothing from it. An account is optional and only needed for credits: it holds your email address, your credit balance and what you made with credits. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies.

What runs in your browser

The viewer, the print cost calculator, the converter, Repair (with Make solid at Standard or Fine detail), Reduce and Compress all work on your device. The files you open with them are never sent to a server, and we never receive a copy.

What goes to a server, and where

These tools send what you give them to a server for the run, and the result comes straight back to your browser:

• Image to 3D: your photo.
• Text to 3D: your description.
• Texture generator: your description, and a photo if you add one.
• Image to normal map, when you choose Make maps: your picture.
• Retexture: your model, and your reference picture or description.
• Remesh, only on a phone or when your device cannot do it: your model.
• Repair, with Solid detail set to Best, only when the parts cannot be joined in your browser: your model.

The servers are ours, run on Hugging Face (Hugging Face, Inc., United States). The files are processed for the run and not kept by us. Hugging Face keeps request logs under its own privacy policy, and uses your IP address to share out its free GPU time.

Accounts, credits and payments

If you make an account, we store your email address, how you sign in (a code by email, or your Google or GitHub account’s id, name and picture), your credit balance and a history of purchases and runs. Sign-in codes are sent by Resend (Resend, Inc., United States), which receives your email address for that.

Payments are handled by Stripe (Stripe, Inc., United States). Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us; we receive your email address, the amount, and Stripe’s ids for the payment and customer, so we can add the credits and handle refunds. You sign in or sign up before paying, so a purchase always belongs to an account.

Runs paid with credits go to Runware (Runware, Inc., United States) or to our servers on Hugging Face, which receive the picture, description or model for the run. A run on a Tripo model goes to Tripo (tripo3d.ai), which receives the picture, and for a retexture or a remesh your model. What a paid run makes is stored for you in Cloudflare R2 (Cloudflare, Inc., United States) so you can download it again from your account. The file you put in is not kept, apart from a model sent for retexturing, which is held there while the run reads it and deleted when the run ends, within a day at most. We may delete results older than twelve months.

Errors on the site, and what you write when you press Feedback under a tool or Report a problem on a file, go to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., United States) so we can fix them. A report from your account carries your email address and the id of the file, so we can answer; an error carries the page and, when you are signed in, your account id.

You can delete your account and everything stored with it under Settings on your account page, or by writing to [email protected] from its email address. Records of payments are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.

What stays in your browser

Your recent results (what you downloaded, continued with or generated) are kept in your browser’s own storage for seven days, so a reload does not lose them. Your tool settings are kept there too, and a file you send from one tool to the next waits there until the next page opens it. None of it is sent to us. Clear it with the Clear link under the recent results, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser.

Cookies

There are no advertising or analytics cookies, and nothing tracks you across sites. If you sign in, a session cookie keeps you signed in, and a short-lived one protects the sign-in form; both are needed for the account to work.

Server logs

Like any website, our host keeps standard request logs (IP address, page, time, browser) for security and to fix faults, for a limited time.

Your rights

If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or a place with similar law, you may ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to its use, and take a copy. Write to [email protected]. You may also complain to your data protection authority.

We process data to provide the tools, accounts and purchases you use (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), to keep payment records the law requires (Article 6(1)(c)) and, for security and fair use of free GPU time, in our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)). The providers named above are in the United States; transfers to them rely on the EU standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Children

3D Valley is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
