3DValley Featured 3D Artist of April 2009 – Alex Sandri. Alex is a freelance 3D artist and Maya & Mental Ray tutor from Milan, Italy. He is a former fashion photographer and currently lives in Bangkok & Koh Samui, a small tropical island in southern Thailand. He has over 10 years experience working in Maya & Mental Ray on Architectural Visualization projects. He recently also started recording video lessons for Gnomonology.

3Dvalley Featured 2D Artist for April 2009 – Paul Wright. Paul is an artist and photographer from the UK. He has been an artist almost all his life. In the past was an Showman’s Decorator, painting the large scenery panels on fairground rides and shows. I loved those panels as a child 🙂 Today he is working as a freelance artist/ photographer. Jason grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a degree in social psychology and a minor in philosophy. He started with 3D as a hobby about six years ago but it soon turned into a passion and today he  is making a living of it. 3DValley Featured 2D Artist of March 2009 – Gareth Southwell. Gareth is a freelance artist/illustrator based in the UK. He is specialized in figurative work and his preferred medium is black and white line drawing, though he does venture into color when the occasion demands. At the moment he is illustrating a series of philosophy books and working on his own comic project. Featured 2D Artist of December 2008 – Anikó Hencz

Below you can read the interview with 3DValley Featured Artist for December 2008 – Anikó Hencz. Anikó currently lives and works from Budapest, Hungary. She was taught graphics and painting by some excellent artists. Later on in life she took private drawing lessons and was more and more attracted towards abstract art and surrealism. She mostly use computer graphics, though all her paintings – may they be hand drawings, computer graphics, photo manipulations or some combination of all these techniques – she tries to capture an unique language that shows her personal emotions and visions. Her second “love” is creating handcrafted jewelry, especially beaded jewelry combined with glass, cork, wire, or stones. At 37 he decided to change his career and went back to school at the Academy of Art and Design in Montreal to follow a two years course by night and weekend. He has worked in several areas of the industry including industrial modeling, gaming, architecture and product visualization. Benoit is a self taught artist who began with drawing at the age of seven. He studied architecture and today he works as a freelance artist in Paris, France. His two main objectives are working as a 3D graphic designer for prominent architects in Paris, such as Claude Vasconi and Jean-Michel Wilmotte. The second is creating digital art projects which are focused on science fiction. His style is a mix between US comic strips (Marvel heroes), science fiction movie (Star wars) and contemporary Architecture.
