Below you can read the interview with 3DValley Featured Artist for December 2008 – Anikó Hencz. Anikó currently lives and works from Budapest, Hungary. She was taught graphics and painting by some excellent artists. Later on in life she took private drawing lessons and was more and more attracted towards abstract art and surrealism. She mostly use computer graphics, though all her paintings – may they be hand drawings, computer graphics, photo manipulations or some combination of all these techniques – she tries to capture an unique language that shows her personal emotions and visions. Her second “love” is creating handcrafted jewelry, especially beaded jewelry combined with glass, cork, wire, or stones. Featured 3D Artist of Nov/ Dec 2008 – Jean Simard

Below you can read the interview with the 3D Valley Featured Artist of November 2008 – Jean Simard. Jean is a 3D artist from Montreal, Canada. He mostly works with 3dsmax but also uses many other software programs. At 37 he decided to change his career and went back to school at the Academy of Art and Design in Montreal to follow a two years course by night and weekend. He has worked in several areas of the industry including industrial modeling, gaming, architecture and product visualization. Some of the projects he has worked on are: PSP – Open Season, and Surf’s Up: the video game. Please read our interview with Jean below to get to know him and his work a bit better.

He studied Graphic Design at the California State University and became a full time graphic designer after graduation. His passion however is painting and he is fortunate enough to be able to spend his day doing what he loves most. Benoit is a self taught artist who began with drawing at the age of seven. He studied architecture and today he works as a freelance artist in Paris, France. His two main objectives are working as a 3D graphic designer for prominent architects in Paris, such as Claude Vasconi and Jean-Michel Wilmotte. The second is creating digital art projects which are focused on science fiction. His style is a mix between US comic strips (Marvel heroes), science fiction movie (Star wars) and contemporary Architecture. Below you can read the interview with 3DValley Featured Artist for October 2008 – Stina Wiik, Stina is freelance illustrator and graphic designer for over ten years. She lives and works in Sweden. She is an illustrator with a background in fine art, illustration, and graphic design. She has studied art and took an part-time apprenticeship of several years with artist, art teacher, and art historian Björn Dolk. Today she does all kind of illustrations for printed matter and digital use. Her passion and goal is children’s book illustrations. She used to sketch the first ideas on paper, but nowadays she more often use digital tools right from the beginning to finished work. Besides a very talented painter she is also a toymaker, card maker, improviser, musician, cook, & housewife. She loves all things creative. She uses oils and canvas for her paintings. Felt, ribbon and beads for her toys. The only software she use is Adobe Photoshop and that is only for editing the levels on the photographs of her finished work.
